Data Warehouse, FinTRAC (Mar 2002 – Aug 2003)

Peter designed and coded the PL/SQL portion of several systems and sub-systems on this ambitious Ministry of Finance data warehousing project.  Working with DBAs and VB developers, he delivered search systems meeting three distinct sets of needs, and provided technical design documentation for these systems and supporting database processes.  He contributed to performance tuning efforts and data model analysis with a view to greater efficiency in querying, and participated in initial data modeling for two pilot projects (Detection Rules and Full Text Search).   He provided technical advice on Oracle’s Advanced Queuing messaging system, and an initial design for a projected implementation of Oracle Advanced Queuing.  He contributed to testing and quality assurance, working closely with the test team to identify and resolve issues.
